Where was I at August 7th, 2010?….at the Red Barn Spectacular at the Gilmore Car Museum. Classic cars (and more recent as well) as far as the eye can see. Cars I’ve never even seen or heard of. Muscle cars that would make you teeth chatter. What is a guy with a camera to do? Shoot until you can’t move a muscle. A fellow car lover and photographer and I braved the masses at the 30th Annual Show. I don’t know the official count but the numbers on the entry forms posted in the cars were over 600 and that didn’t include the Judged cars. For 3 hours we walked amongst the magnificent steel beasts trying to find those details that make “THAT” car the car it is. From the tail lights of a 59 Caddy to the grill of a 1950′s GMC COE. Here are some of my favorites from this weekend. Hope you enjoy!

Red Barn Spectacular – WOW!
Wednesday, August 11th, 2010I spy the Moon……..oh wait is that dust on the lens?
Wednesday, January 20th, 2010No, that’s Jupiter. It wasn’t until I was in looking at my photos on the screen that I realized there was a star up there too. So after some digging I found out it was Jupiter.
From Abrahm’s Planetarium Night Sky Notes:
Sunday, January 17, 2010
The thin crescent Moon is to the lower right of Jupiter. Look for the pair in the WSW at dusk. Jupiter is shining bright at -2nd magnitude. Neptune, at 8th magnitude, is to the lower left of the Moon, but requires a telescope to be seen.

What a difference winter makes…
Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009I took this photo back on October 20th of Vandercook Hall on Western Michigan University’s campus. The array of colors is just awesome as well is the architecture of the building. It looks even better in print.
So now every time I drive by Vandercook Hall, I look over to see what is currently going on there, image wise that is. This last time I noticed that they don’t shovel the sidewalks giving it that freshly fallen snow look. I thought with the hibernating vines and snow it would make a nice black and white photo and a contrast in seasons photo.
Here is a color version of the winter image. ENJOY!
Brochure Pictures
Wednesday, December 9th, 2009One of our suppliers always puts out a yearly request for pictures of our installs they can use in their brochures. This is one of my favorites pictures I grabbed and of course I had to play with it in Nik’s SilverEfex Pro. Unfortunately with the small images, you cannot see the lighted Christmas tree in this image. ENJOY
Sometimes you just have to stop…
Friday, October 23rd, 2009How many times do you drive by something and say you need to take a picture of it but don’t? Well this is Vandercook Hall on Western Michigan University’s Historic East Campus. During the late spring, summer and early fall months I probably drive by this building 3 or 4 times a week. It is a beautiful old brick building that was completed back in 1940. It is now covered in Ivy from the ground to roof line. I’ve never taken a picture of it until now. I’ve always said I would stop by and get a picture of it because the contrast between red brick and dark green leaves always intrigued me. But driving by the other day and the ivy changing into it’s fall colors made me stop for sure. I only wish I had a tripod with me. Hopefully I can make it back there before the fall colors are gone.
